Satay Brothers started over six years ago as an outdoor seasonal kiosk at the Atwater Market. My brother Ming (Mat), our mom Kim, myself and a couple of friends set on a mission to bring some Singaporean, Malaysian and South East Asian flavours to Montreal.
Out of a small hawker stand, we served laksa, steamed pork buns, satay, papaya salad and gado-gado. Our food stall grew popular and people wanted to eat our food even in winter. We opened a small restaurant, basically our prep kitchen, to feed people in the colder months for 3 years on St-Jacques Street.
In January 2015, we relocated to a bigger kitchen and much bigger dining room. Our new home is at 3721 Notre-Dame street in the heart of St-Henri. In a warm atmosphere, eclectic décor and with good music, we serve delicious Singaporean and Malaysian dishes. With a great wine list, beers, cocktails and a full bar, a friendly, dedicated wait staff and some truly amazing cooks, our constant objective is make sure that you have a great experience every time you choose to eat with us.
We look forward to serving you!

Always providing service with a smile and a joke or two to brighten up the day. I love this place and it is my only spot to eat while working at the Glen.

It’s delicious. Best hospital food I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve eaten hospital food all over the world!

Kim Winnicki worked as a nurse in the health care system for over 35 years. She was the most caring, generous, genuine person you ever met and had such a passion for good food. She helped her sons, Ming and Jen open Satay Brothers, a popular Singaporean Malaysian restaurant in St-Henri and hawker stall at the Atwater market.
KJM’s mission is to offer good food to the people that work in the health care complex as well as to the daily visitors and patients of the MUHC. Tasty meals, cold and hot, with vegetarian and gluten free options, you are sure to find something you’ll love. Come and meet Fred and his team – they truly want you to enjoy every single visit to KJM.
